Coverfill Systems are designed to convert fibre by opening and blowing into a pre-made case or cover. The unit is suitable for the filling of pillows, cushions and upholstery. The equipment is free standing and simple to operate. Fibre is hand fed from the bale, hopper or bin on to a driven feed conveyor. The fibre is worked gently and opened prior to blowing into a pre-made case. The filling rate is foot controlled by the operator to ensure even fibre distribution within the case. The cover fabric must allow the free passage of air and optimum results are achieved by using hollow or conjugate polyester fibre. Coverfill Systems are delivered fully assembled and pre-wired requiring only a three phase mains connection, clear site and even floor. No bolting down is required.
Technical details :-
For the last 16 years, Coverfill equipment has performed successfully worldwide, offering reliability, high performance and minimum after sales and maintenance costs. Case Study Coverfill Fibre Systems We introduced the MW Case Filler in Spring 1999 and assessed the equipment under production conditions for 4 months before offering the equipment worldwide. The following case study is featured by kind courtesy of Fibreastic Ltd., Reading, Berkshire, UK. The company is a specialist supplier of cushions, pillows and upholstery covers. Fibreastic was established in 1988 and moved into their current premises in August 2000. Covers are sewn to meet precise customer requirement and Fibreastic guarantee product quality and continuity batch to batch. They use 40 gram non-woven fabric for most covers and the filling is 100% 7 denier conjugate fibre. Filled cover weights vary from 200 grams up to 5 kilos. The normal delivery lead time is 7 working days and a full inventory of covers is maintained. Incoming fibre bales normally weigh 250-270 kilos. Nominal size 100 x 100 x 60cm (L x W x H).
Overall view of the two Coverfill systems operating in tandem, each system is complete with fibre hopper and work station. Coverstock Preparation
The Fibreastic operation has evolved to ensure quick response and flexible production. The company provides a commission service with short delivery lead times. There is strong emphasis upon product integrity and performance. It is critical that batch to batch production is consistent. Fibreastic use their experience to assist customers in both product, case and cover development. Emberfern Feather Case
Filler Emberfern introduce their range of Feather Case Filling Equipment for down, down/feather mix, curled feather or poultry. The system is versatile and designed for the smaller converter with outputs dependent upon product mix of upto 3000 kilos/per single shift working week. The production balance is achieved by one operator feeding an aerated chamber working in tandem with a colleague at the filling nozzle. The cases to be filled,
either regular or channelled are pre-sewn to leave an access point of
100mm nominal to receive the delivery nozzle. The access should allow free cloth gathering around the nozzle for operator convenience but without allowing air escape and overspill. The operation is completed by check weighing, case closure, brushing and packing. The system is user and environmentally friendly with recirculation and sweeper points to collect overspill. Feather can be drawn from a bin/container or directly from the sack. The equipment is delivered either fully assembled or if necessary in 3 sections for ease of access. The services required are three phase electric and air at 3 Bar. Floor Space:- 5400 x 1120 x 2950mm (L x W x H) Floor Loading:- 575kilos. The operation is compact, easily operated and maintained but above all highly cost effective. Emberfern will be pleased to advise upon your possible feather filling applications. We maintain a policy of continual machine development and accordingly reserve the right to improve and update specifications. |
